Five quick checks that sometimes fix it
These take a couple of minutes and are safe for any homeowner. If none of them gets the cold air back, call us. Knowing what you already tried also helps the technician.
Thermostat
Set to Cool, set below the room temperature, and the screen is on. A blank screen often means dead batteries or a tripped float switch.
Breakers
Check the AC and air handler breakers in your panel. If one tripped, reset it once.
If it trips again, leave it off and call — that points to an electrical fault.
Air filter
A filter packed with dust can choke airflow badly enough to freeze the coil and stop cooling.
Drain and float switch
